Selwyn Gale Goldsmith & Jeweller - Terms and Conditions
General:
I try my best to advertise items "for sale" only when they are available but as I carry only a small stock, sales sometimes deplete what is immediately available.
Photographed jewellery tends to look much bigger in a photograph than the actual size and colours may differ somewhat. I try to produce images as accurately as possible - but my photographic skills do not match those of my jewellery. If your colour needs are critical, be sure to speak to me in advance of ordering.
All advertised prices are in Pounds Sterling.
Rings:
Most rings can be re-sized. Where this is possible, they are re-sized free of charge but you are responsible for providing an accurate ring size.
Payment:
Jewellery is dispatched to an agreed destination and is sent once payment has been cleared.
Generally, I seek a deposit in advance for "commissions".
Any quotations remain valid for a period of 14 days from the date of issue.
Delivery:
In the UK I mainly use the Royal Mail Special Delivery service (or a fully insured substitute). For sales overseas I use FedEx.
Once a piece has been delivered, it becomes your responsibility and if you wish to return it you should use the Royal Mail Special Delivery (or a fully insured substitute or FedEx).
International Delivery
A customs form is attached to the outside of ‘shipped’ jewellery. The form requires an accurate description of the contents and the actual cost. Please note that you may be liable for any import duty etc. which applies in your country. There is an additional charge for ‘shipping’. I use FEDEX (Federal Express). You can check with your local government what the exact import fee charges would be for jewellery items imported from the United Kingdom.
General Returns:
If you commission me to make a piece for you to an agreed design and specification, it is sold to you on a ‘non-returnable’ basis. I will take all reasonable measures to ensure that you are pleased with your piece.
Pieces in the ‘For-Sale’ section have a 10 day refund policy starting from the day the goods are received by you. If a piece is modified to suit your needs, it cannot be returned without my agreement.
You agree to bear the whole cost of returning any item (including appropriate insurance), and agree to return the work (unless faulty) in its original condition and packaging.
Earrings:
Earrings can only be returned in the original sealed and unopened transparent packet unless the earrings returned are faulty.
Refunds:
Should your jewellery be received in an unsatisfactory condition (faulty or damaged), please contact me immediately. When I receive the returned goods I will, where appropriate, refund the full purchase price including postage as promptly as possible.
